Cybrec Platform FAQ
Information about the Cybrec platform, training access, and lab environments.
Have questions about Cybrec, the training platform, or how access works?
This section provides answers to the most common questions about the platform, subscriptions, labs, and course access.
Platform
What is Cybrec?
Cybrec is a technical training platform focused on infrastructure security. The training demonstrates how security controls are configured, verified, and operated in network, cloud, and DevOps environments.
What type of training does Cybrec provide?
Cybrec courses focus on practical security implementations across network security, cloud security, and DevOps automation. Training covers real infrastructure systems such as firewalls, cloud networking, identity management, and infrastructure automation tools.
How is the training structured?
Courses are organized as structured learning paths covering specific technologies and security concepts. Each course includes lessons, configuration walkthroughs, supporting lab materials, and practical implementation exercises (if apply).
Labs
Are hands-on labs included?
Yes. Courses include practical lab content designed to reinforce the technologies and security concepts covered in the training. Depending on the course, labs may include downloadable workbooks, topology files, configuration exercises, guided solution videos, platform-integrated Virtual Labs (vLabs), and cloud-based training environments designed for infrastructure, automation, networking, security, and AI workflows.
What are Virtual Labs (vLabs)?
Virtual Labs (vLabs) are integrated hands-on environments that allow students to interact with preconfigured infrastructure directly through the platform. Depending on the course, virtual labs may provide access to dedicated Network Labs (nLabs) or Cloud Labs (cLabs). In addition to convenience, isolated virtual environments provide a safe workspace for practical exercises, experimentation, and workflows that may involve infrastructure automation, administrative tooling, or AI-assisted configuration tasks.
What is the difference between Network Labs and Cloud Labs?
Network Labs (nLabs) provide browser-accessible virtual environments hosted by Cybrec, including operating systems, security tools, network devices, and lab workstations. Cloud Labs (cLabs) provide temporary cloud access with preconfigured resources that allow students to perform cloud-native exercises directly within a cloud provider environment. The lab type used depends on the course objectives and technologies being taught.
Do all courses include virtual labs?
No. Virtual lab availability depends on the course and infrastructure requirements. Courses that include integrated vLabs clearly indicate this within the course details and lab resources sections.
Can I still run labs locally?
Yes. While many courses now provide integrated Virtual Labs (vLabs), some training scenarios continue to use self-hosted or external infrastructure depending on the technology and learning objectives. This is most common for technologies, platforms, and scenarios that benefit from direct integration with a student's own infrastructure or local environments. Downloadable lab materials and supporting resources remain available where applicable.
Access
Can I access my courses on a mobile device?
Yes. The platform can be accessed from desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices. The interface adapts to different screen sizes while maintaining access to course materials, videos, and lab resources.
Are Virtual Labs included with all subscriptions?
Virtual lab access depends on the membership tier and course. Some labs may require higher-tier access due to infrastructure and runtime resource requirements.
How do I access my training?
Once you subscribe, your training library becomes available through your member account at cybrec.com/login.
